Obi Arisukwu
Obi Arisukwu, A.K.A. Obi Aris, is a Nigerian-American Artist and Illustrator specializing in cartoon, comics, children’s book art and graphic design. Obi Aris is mostly involved in art – drawing and sketches as well as making cartoons, designing logos, websites, and satisfying other graphics needs. Obi Aris loves Picassos. He nurtures his interest in Picassos by creating them often. When he is not creating Picassos, he is usually found reading creative and inspiring books, or listening to a podcast. In all, he intends to learn something new and create an exciting experience for himself and all around him.
Obi Aris’ artworks depict everyday life activities and the world of realities. His latest art illustrations include Hair Love, The Black Mamba, Everything is Love, Terry “Snow White” Crews, Zoe Kravitz, Zendaya as Detective Rue Martins, When They See Us, Issa Rae and more. Likewise, his Comic Strips which includes comics and animated videos are inspired by everyday life, people and societies. Obi Arisukwu’s comics are mostly relative, exploring themes of love, deceit, persuasion, approval, denial and friendship. His latest animated videos include Business Meeting, Humpty Dumpty, Pokemon Pimp, the Oprah Winfrey, Ballin’ on a budget and more.
Obi Aris first started sharing his illustrations through Instagram in January 2012, before going on to develop his website in 2017 – www.obiaris.com. On the website, he also runs an online web store, where he sells prints, posters and original artworks.
Obi Aris recently recorded an amazing feat with his collaboration with HBO Max and Michael B. Jordan’s production company, Outlier Society to develop a new animated series, “Obi”, and to bring the anime to HBO Max’ popular streaming services.

Obi Aris is an alumnus of Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas, Unites States, where he studied fine arts and Graphics Design from 2004-2008.
The art illustrator had previously worked as a Visual Designer at 20.10 Media from 2010-2012 and as Lead Visual Designer at ConocoPhillips from 2013 to 2017.
Severally, his lighthearted comics have impressed fans from Nigeria and the diaspora, earning him recognition across the globe. In 2018, Obi Aris attracted the attention of Will Smith, an American actor, rapper and film producer when he released an illustration of Will Smith and his son, Jaden on social media. The illustration was widely appealing to both the actor and a broad range of fans across various social media platforms. Additionally, he has created illustrations of several other famous celebrities and icons such as Serena Williams, Donald Glover, and Kobe Bryant.
While excelling in his career, Obi Aris has helped others to fulfil their dreams by producing a wide range of art media, including art for book publications, comics, cartoons, clothing and buildings.
At the brink of uncertainties, Obi Aris’ works are known to lighten moods and bring laughter all the way to your timeline.
