Owen Omogiafo is a business executive and strategist. She is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria, (Transcorp Nigeria) a leading diversified company with strategic investments in the Power, Hospitality and Oil and Gas sectors.

Owen’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Benin, a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and an Advanced Management Program from the Lagos Business School. Additionally, she is a Harvard-trained executive, a certified Change Manager from the Prosci Institute, USA and an alumna of the IESE Business School, Spain.

Owen started her career as the Relationship Manager of the Bond Bank in 2003 and in 2004, she became the HP Consultant at Accenture. She later moved to Banking, where she held several roles spanning Operations, Service Quality Management and Relationship Management. In her banking career, she served as Human Resources Advisor to the General Managing Director, United Bank for Africa (UBA) from 2008 to 2010.

In her over 18 years of experience in the corporate industry, Owen has worked in various leadership capacities including as Director of Human Resources, Heirs Holdings, where she was responsible for establishing structures for optimal engagement and deployment within the organization. She equally served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), where she worked with the CEO and the Board to oversee the $100 million programme targeted at identifying, mentoring and funding 10,000 African entrepreneurs over 10 years. 

Owen joined Transcorp as the Executive Director, Corporate Services in July 2018 and rose to the position of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Transcorp Hotels Plc, leading the brand’s operation of its flagship Transcorp Hilton Abuja and Transcorp Hotels Calabar. 

In 2020, she was appointed President/Chief Executive Officer of Transcorp, which made her the youngest CEO on the Nigerian Stock Exchange and the first female to occupy the position at the company. 

Owen holds membership of various notable organizations including the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, UK; Institute of Directors, (IoD) Nigeria; and the Board of Trustees of the Association of Power Generation Companies (APGC) Nigeria. She also holds Non-Executive Director positions at Transcorp Power Limited and Transcorp Hotels Plc. Owen sits on the Finance, Investment & Risk Committee Board of Avon Healthcare Limited as well as its Audit & Governance Committee.

The business executive has received several accolades for her influence in the corporate scene. She was included in Business Day Women’s Hub – 50 Most Inspiring Nigerian Women in 2020, Leading Ladies Africa – 50 Leading Ladies in Corporate Nigeria in 2019 and YNaija Power List for Corporate Nigeria in 2018.
