Kunle Afolayan’s Citation Wins Best International Film at the National Film Awards
Citation, a 2020 Netflix film by talented actor, film producer and director Kunle Afolayan; has won the ‘Best International Film’ at the National Film Awards in the United Kingdom. This is the first international award won by the Netflix Original film.
Olutosin Oni Appointed CEO of Gokada
Gokada, a Nigerian logistics company, has appointed Olutosin Oni as its new Chief Executive Officer. The newly appointed will lead the company in its effort to expand beyond Nigeria. He succeeds the former CEO, Nikhil Goel.
Wizkid Records Fourth Billboard Hot 100 Entry
Superstar singer, Wizkid has recorded his fourth Billboard Hot 100 entry with his feature on Chris Brown’s Afrobeats-inspired single, ‘Call Me Everyday.’ The single is off Chris Brown’s latest album “Breezy,” and is currently peaked at number 74 on the chart.
Simi Is Spotify EQUAL Africa Artist for July
Nigerian singer, Simi, has been named Spotify EQUAL Africa Artist for July. Spotify is a global streaming platform that provides access to millions of songs from Nigeria, Africa, and around the world.
Tiwa Savage, Dr. Funke Abimbola, and eight others will be awarded honorary degrees from the University of Kent, during its congregation ceremony at Canterbury and Rochester cathedrals later in July.
Oladiwura Oladepo Is the only Nigerian in the Top 10 of the Waislitz Global Citizen Awards
Oladiwura Oladepo, the Executive Director and Co-founder of Technology for Social Change and Development Initiative (Tech4Dev), has made the semi-final shortlist of the prestigious Waislitz Global Citizen Awards for 2022.
