Temi Marcella Awogboro is a leading investment professional with over 15 years of experience across deal origination, execution, portfolio management and board management in developed and growth markets across sectors including the technology, healthcare and the financial services industry. Temi Marcella believes in the power of private capital to transform life. She is passionate about harnessing this power as a catalyst for profound change globally. She has committed over $500 million of private partnership capital across strategic sectors around the world.
She currently serves as the Executive Director at Evercare Hospital in Lekki, Lagos State; owned by TPG Capital. Temi was also recently appointed to the Nigerian Health Reform Committee by the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari. The Health Sector Reform Committee was approved by the President, in partnership with state governments and the Federal Capital Territory – FCT administration. Before this, she was the West Africa deal lead of the Health Fund.
Temi is also Co-founder and Partner with Kairos Angels, where she works with visionary entrepreneurs to build scalable businesses and sustainable innovation ecosystems; and the Magic Fund, an early-stage VC backing 70+ tech startups including Retool, Frubana, Payfazz, Bolt, Akido, Medumo (Acq), Novo, CafeX, Py (Acq), KiwiBot, Muxy, Bamboo, and Mono amongst others.
Temi started her career at Goldman Sachs International as a Derivatives Trader and was later promoted to managing a portfolio of structured equity derivatives and as Investment Analyst. Before this, she was selected as a Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Scholar and the proud recipient of Goldman Sachs/Institute of International Education’s Global Leaders Award.
Temi holds a First Class master’s degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge and a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
She is a Kauffman Venture Capital Fellow, African Leadership Institute Fellow, former World Economic Forum Global Shaper and Alumni Ambassador, and the recipient of the Future Awards Africa (TFAA)’s Prize for Professional Service, M&A Advisor’s European Emerging Leaders Award and was named in The Telegraph’s 35 Women Under 35 in the UK annual power list.
