The Ikogosi Warm Springs
Ikogosi is a small quiet town in Ekiti West Local Government area of Ekiti State, Nigeria. The town is globally known because of the Ikogosi Warm Springs.
The Ikogosi Warm Springs is a natural wonder with a warm spring and cold spring flowing side by side and meeting at a confluence, each maintaining its thermal properties. The warm spring has a temperature of up to 700 C at the source and 370 C after meeting the cold spring. The thick vegetation around the springs protects the area from erosion and arbitrary deforestation. The undulating topography of the area and the symmetry of the surrounding hills add to the aesthetic appeal of the Springs.
Astoundingly, the Ikogosi Springs is a miracle of nature being the only one of its kind in the world. The confluence of warm and cold springs flowing onward together with each spring retaining its thermal identity has over the years, amazed geologists.
The community who live around the Springs largely believe that the Springs has strong curative properties, curing many diseases such as skin ailments, aches, infertility, arthritis, and hypertension.

If you want to experience the Springs’ serene, peaceful and quiet environment, then make it a priority to visit between the months of February and April, as the spring attracts a lot of tourists during the holiday periods, especially in the month of December.
If you intend to spend more than a day at the Springs, ensure you book a room at the Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort, at least a day before your visit. The resort is located very close to the Springs with a variety of elegant lodges and chalets. There is also a large-sized swimming pool available at the resort with natural and clean water that flows directly from the Springs.
