In a bid to make history, Nigerian chess master Tunde Onakoya, founder of Chess in Slums Africa, is gearing up for an extraordinary challenge in the heart of New York City’s iconic Times Square. His mission: to attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon, aiming to play chess for an astonishing 58 consecutive hours without a single defeat.

The current record for the longest chess marathon stands at 56 hours, 9 minutes, and 37 seconds. This remarkable feat was achieved by Hallvard Haug Flatebø and Sjur Ferkingstad, both hailing from Norway, in Haugesund, Norway, on November 11, 2018.
