Uzoma Dozie

Uzoma Dozie is one of the top players in the Nigerian financial sector. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Sparkle, a mobile banking platform focused on the Nigerian retail sector, and was former General Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at Diamond bank plc (Access Bank).

Uzoma Dozie has worked in key segments of business development including Corporate Banking, Commercial Banking, and Retail Banking. An advocate of financial inclusion, he believes that technology alongside good governance can make the world great.

Uzoma founded Sparkle in 2019 to build a dynamic relationship between Nigerian retailers and consumers, and to enable consumers to make better decisions. With Sparkle, Uzoma is helping retailers achieve their daily objectives. He uses technology to create an exciting customer experience and support services, ranging from inventory management to invoicing statements, and foreign exchange services.

Before Sparkle, Uzoma worked in top management positions at Guaranty Trust Bank, Spring Bank, and Diamond Bank.

Uzoma completed a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Reading, a master’s degree in Chemical Research from the University College, London, and a master’s in Business Administration from Imperial College, London.

A financial advisor and economist, Uzoma leverages technology to achieve maximum output. He has led the implementation of large-scale technology solutions that have driven major economic reforms in Nigeria.

Uzoma’s interest in the technology space led him to launch TechFest, a platform that fosters partnerships between Nigeria’s technology and business sectors. He features tech start-up founders on his online TV show, Tech Turks, where he discusses opportunities and challenges in the tech industry.

The entrepreneur’s passion to see businesses leverage innovative technology has also led him to provide business advice and mentorships to entrepreneurs and business leaders.

He sits on the board of Women’s World Banking.
