Vivien Shobo
Vivien Shobo is an experienced finance executive, banking expert and astute financial analyst. She is the Chief Executive Officer of FVS Advisory Partners, a company providing transaction and financial advisory services. Vivien Shobo has a vast knowledge of the Nigerian macroeconomic environment and its key industries. She was recently appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director at InfraCredit, a highly rated specialized infrastructure credit guarantee institution in Nigeria.
Prior to becoming CEO of FVS Advisory Partners in January 2021, Vivien Shobo was CEO at Agusto and Co, Nigeria’s foremost research and credit rating agency for large corporates from September 2003 to December 2019. During her tenure at Agusto and Co, the organization recorded several milestones including rating most of Nigeria’s leading banks and facilitating landmark multibillion naira transactions such as the largest Municipal Bond programme and single largest tranche insurance – Lagos State Government’s ₦500 billion Bond programme and ₦87.5 billion Bond issuance. She also led the company to rate Nigeria’s first 15-year corporate green bond, the first bond issued by a deposit money bank in Nigeria, the first Bond issuance by an insurance company, and the first commercial paper issuance under the new guidelines of FMDQ. Vivien also led the firm’s African expansion initiatives by obtaining Credit Rating Agency licenses from the Capital Market Authorities of Kenya and Rwanda.

Her educational background includes a Master of Business Administration – MBA in Finance from the University of Manchester, 2004-2006, and an Executive Education – International Management Program (IMP) from Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University, 2015-2016. She is an alumnus of Harvard Business School and The Wharton School, where she had an Executive Education in Leadership. Vivien is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
As part of her contribution to the development of the Nigerian financial market, Vivien has served on various committees including the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Financial Literacy Master Plan Committee, Fixed Income Sub-Committee, and the Investor Confidence Sub-Committee. Over the past 20 years, Vivien has contributed significantly to the development of the Nigerian Debt Capital Market through her participation in various market and regulator led initiatives.
Vivien is an Independent Non-Executive Director at several organizations including Transport Services Limited (TSL), FMDQ Group, and recently, InfraCredit. She also sits on the Steering Board of the Nigerian Stock Exchanges Corporate Governance Rating System (CGRS).
She has received several awards and recognitions including being recognized as the Icon of the Year at the 2020 African Banker Awards, for her outstanding work and exemplary career during her tenure as CEO of Agusto and Co. She was also recognized for her help in transforming the financial services sector and for driving growth and development in Africa.
