Also, Tinuke Oyediran, a Nigerian-British professional roller-skater broke two new Guinness World Records for ‘most cartwheels on roller skates’ in one minute with 30 and the ‘most spins on e-skates’ in one minute with 70. Tinuke excelled by setting numerous targets for herself, using her record progress attempts as a motivation to achieve her goals. Oluwasoga Oni, Cofounder of MDaaS Global emerged 1st runner up in the recently concluded Jack Ma Foundation’s Africa Netpreneur Prize Initiative (ANPI), winning the sum of $250,000 in grant. Oluwasoga Oni clinched the 2nd position out of 10 finalists that emerged from the over 22,000 applications across 54 African countries. An inspiring Cell Biologist, Tobiloba Oni became a Fellow of the prestigious Whitehead Institute, United States. He employs world-class creativity and technical insights to research on new biomarkers and therapeutic targets in pancreatic cancer. Additionally, Forbes released its 10th publication of the Forbes 30 under 30 honorees which included eight outstanding Nigerians who have defied odds to build something compelling. Noteworthy is the announcement of The Milkmaid, a Hausa language-based film by Desmond Ovbiagele as Nigeria’s official submission for the 93rd Oscars in the International Feature Film category. The film tells the story of a Fulani milkmaid who confronts extremists in a rural African community.
