This week, Refinedng featured significant wins across various industries. In the much-awaited fight between Unified world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua and Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev, Anthony Joshua knocked out Pulev to retain heavyweight championship belts. His win creates a potential all-British heavyweight unification bout against Tyson Fury in 2021. Interestingly, Dr Adeola Olubamiji rises as the first black director in the field of Additive Manufacturing at Desktop Metal, a technology company in Massachusetts, United States. She was also the first black person to bag a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. Recently, Disney Animation Studios makes first-of-its-kind collaboration with a pan-African entertainment company, Kugali Media for their comic book series, Iwaju. Disney and Kugali Media will team up to create an all-new, science fiction series which will premier on DisneyPlus streaming platform in 2022.
