Yele Bademosi

Yele Bademosi is Co-founder at Nestcoin, a startup striving to create equal access to economic opportunities through cryptocurrency. He is also Founding Partner at Microtraction, an early-stage venture capital firm providing funds to Africa’s most remarkable teams with technical founders at the earliest stages of their venture. Microtraction provides seed capital to technology entrepreneurs across multiple sectors including technology, finance, and cryptocurrency.

Microtraction’s principal role is to increase the number of venture bankable startups across the continent, which it does by creating the market for venture and growth-stage capital to follow on, and bridging the pre-seed funding gap that currently exists. The investment firm is backed and advised by top local and Global investors including Michael Seibel, CEO Y-Combinator; Tunde Folawiyo, energy and real estate businessman; and Andy Volk, Google’s Head of Ecosystem for sub-Saharan Africa.

Yele Bademosi and his team have built Microtraction to be recognized among the most active investors in West Africa, after funding over 12 startups including 54gene, Thankucash, Riby, BuyCoins, Wallet.ng, CowryWise, Bitsika and others.

Yele Bademosi received a Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree from King’s College London.

A self-taught Developer and UX/UI designer, Yele previously founded Purple, a social app that allows university students with shared interests in the United Kingdom to find and connect with one another. He also worked as General Manager at Starta, an online community and resource platform for African entrepreneurs. Yele helped Starta reach over 24,000 subscribers within eight months before it was acquired in 2016. He also led product design at Rocko Labs, a product development studio.

In 2019, Yele was appointed as the Director of Binance Labs, the R&D arm of the crypto platform, Binance where he was responsible for developing Africa’s blockchain ecosystem. From January 2019 to April 2020, he led the Africa chapter of the Binance Labs Incubation Program. Yele was also Chief Executive Officer of Bundle Africa, an Africa-focused social payments app for cash and cryptocurrency.

Yele is focused on developing the blockchain ecosystem in Africa, and accelerating Africa’s transition into a sustainable and developed economy by leveraging capital, innovation and policy.  

Beyond his impressive work experience and portfolio, he was actively involved in sports activities such as football and basketball.
