Ace Music Producer Kiddominant Wins First Ever RIAA Gold Plaque for an African Song with Davido’s Fall
Ace music producer and DJ, Ayoola Oladapo Agboola popularly called Kiddominant has become the first African producer to win the international Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) gold plaque. The music maker was recently recognized for being the producer of Davido’s hit track titled Fall.
The RIAA gold plaque award is given based on the number of albums and singles sold through retail and other ancillary markets. A RIAA–certified Gold plaque is given to a single or album that has sold 500,000 units (records, tapes or compact discs). The plaque was presented to the producer to commemorate RIAA gold certification of more than 500,000 copies of the single “Fall”.
Taking to his twitter page, Kiddominant wrote,
“First ever RIAA Plaque for an African song! Hope to see more African producers and songwriters achieve this. Dream it, Then Real life it.”
He wrote:
“Plaques came in. I’m Super Grateful and I hope this motivates every African kid out there, you can do it too. Thanks @davidoofficial for believing in the vision and Thanks everyone who loved, streamed and bought this record.
PS : This is the only solo African song to be certified by RIAA & longest charting Afrobeats song in billboard history”
Davido’s international hit single “Fall” peaked on US R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart at number 13, US Hot R&B Songs chart at number 25 on Billboard and according to OkayAfrica, Fall is Nigeria’s longest-charted pop song in Billboard history. As of March 2020, “Fall” has received over 40 million streams on Spotify.

Kiddominant is best known for producing Orezi’s hit single “Rihanna” in 2013. Kiddominant has also worked with several artistes including Davido, Wizkid, Popcaan, Wale, DJ Neptune, Aka, DJ Maphorisa, Mr Eazi, Mayorkun amongst others.
