Alfred Olajide Named VP/MD of Coca-Cola Nigeria
Following a reorganization of the Coca-Cola Company’s global leadership structure, Alfred Olajide was appointed Vice President and Managing Director to oversee the Nigeria operations of the leading beverage brand. He succeeds Yebeltal Getachew, whose tenure ended on the 31st of December, 2020.
The Coca-Cola Company’s global restructuring is aimed at increasing the company’s aspiration to emerge stronger amidst a fast-changing global business environment. With the new structure, the former 17 Business Units were merged into 9 Operating Units with focus on strategic local and regional business objectives supported by the company’s newly created platform services.
According to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Coca-Cola Company, James Quincey, the recent change in the company’s operating model will shift marketing to drive more growth and “put execution closer to customers and consumers while prioritizing a portfolio of strong brands.”
Alfred Olajide joins Coca-Cola Nigeria Limited, bringing in several years of experience that corresponds to his new role. For over nine years, Alfred has served in different capacities across various Coca-Cola franchise operations in Africa, some of which include being Franchise Director for Cluster Markets in the Southern and Eastern Africa Region, Director of Revenue Growth Management in the East and Central Region from 2017-2019 as well as assuming Strategy and Business Performance Manager for Nigeria Franchise in 2014.
Prior to joining the Coca-Cola Company, Alfred worked as Team Lead, Business Expansion/Special Projects at Honeywell Group Limited in 2011, and as Senior Business Advisor at KPMG Professional Services from 2006 to 2010.

Speaking on his appointment as VP, Operations and Managing Director of the Coca-Cola business in Nigeria, Alfred stated that he is optimistic about the growth they can achieve through teamwork, with Nigeria as a huge market. Alfred’s broad experience in leading market growth, strategy and operations management built over the years across industries will be used to drive business growth, strategy formulation and market execution in the Nigerian Coca-Cola Franchise.
Alfred obtained a bachelor’s degree in Fisheries Management from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom.
He is highly passionate about initiating/leading growth, leading with impact, empowering young talents and positioning them for growth.
