Interview with the CEO, Beracaheventsng

The CEO; Beracaheventsng

Why did you decide to be an entrepreneur?

When I was in the University, I was involved in many activities and occupied offices that related to people and I discovered early enough that planning and organizing skills were my forte. In my service year (NYSC) also, I was the State Assistant Secretary for the Nigerian Christian Corpers Fellowship and my duty among others was to bring people from different zones together quarterly to plan the growth of the fellowship. I also started volunteering with the Babes of Unique Dynamite Family International- a Christian NGO in 2016 and because I was quite meticulous and creative, I was in charge of several activities of the organization including their first movie launch which took place in November 2017. Precisely in May 2019, I planned my elder sister’s wedding which was successful and the feedback from the event plus previous commendations motivated me to start my company in August 2019.

What inspired the idea of the “Beracaheventsng” brand and when did you start your initiative?

The drive to help people, make them happy and the desire to be a part of people’s projects inspired me to start my company. Being a very meticulous and creative person, I knew I would do so well in the business. I started on the 1st of August, 2019.

What motivates you and what are the principles that guide your business?

The Holy Spirit is my greatest motivation. Also, the desire to bring that smile to peoples’ faces and offer them the best solutions motivates me to do better. I also have a few persons in the industry that I look up to. So the more I look at them, the more I’m motivated to keep moving. Apostle Selman would say: “Look at those clapping for you, if they are not Kings, keep moving!” Then the principles that guide my business are Integrity, loyalty, consistency, amongst others.

In your industry, what makes you unique?

I would say my uniqueness in the industry is the fact that I offer other complementary services. Our complimentary services include Paper crafting- box making, paper flowers, and wall frames, and also bridal hairstyling.

What has been your greatest entrepreneurial success?

I would say my greatest entrepreneurial success is being nominated for five awards between June to November this year (2021) and emerging as the winner of the 25under25 awards of the SME 100 AFRICA awards under the Event Planning category.

What is your favorite aspect of being an entrepreneur?

The fact that I get to meet new people and relate with them as family. I tell clients that I’m not just their planner but a partner.

What is the most challenging of being an entrepreneur?

One major one is how some clients quote guest numbers and then make their planners appear incompetent when many things are not enough. That’s our worst nightmare.

Tell us about your products/services?

My team and I collaborate with our clients as much as they need us to to be a part of the brainstorming, vendor sourcing, and overall management process of events. We also create unique designs for events. Our other services include: Paper Crafting (Crafts by Beracah)Bridal Hairstyling (Hair by Beracah)
