Gossy Ukanwoke
Gossy Ukanwoke is an Entrepreneur, Investor and Government Advisor with an interest in Higher Education, Finance, Security, Gaming and Entertainment. He is passionate about transforming Higher Education in Africa through research, advisory, investment and technology, and supports access to learning and education for young people in underserved communities. Gossy Ukanwoke has worked with African governments on the development of policies to assist in creating access, quality and relevance of learning in higher institutions of learning.
Gossy Ukanwoke is the founder of BAU Research and Development, through which he also founded the Beni American University; Nigeria’s first online university, and BAU Executive Education. BAU Research and Development has investments in two traditional universities in Nigeria and intends to expand to other institutions in the country and Africa.
In January 2017, Gossy was named the President of EduTech, an Education Technology company focused on helping African traditional universities take their on-campus degree programs online through the implementation of the best technology, process management, recruitment, admissions and advisory. EduTech has taken programs from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, and Ahmadu Bello University through its platform reaching thousands of students in undergraduate and graduate programs.

An advisor to several young entrepreneurs, startups and businesses, Gossy Ukanwoke has successfully helped to develop businesses that are providing real solutions to problems on the continent across a broad range of sectors including Power, Education, Civil Service, Manufacturing and Infrastructure Development. Gossy’s work has been profiled by the World Bank and on Forbes, CNN, Harvard Business School, The Huffington Post, Forum for Growth and Innovation, and a host of others. Gossy’s work has been used as a research focus and has been cited in articles, journals and other academic publications.
Gossy currently works as the Managing Director at BetKing, a leading sports betting and entertainment company. He also serves as Chairman of Alistair Maine Group, a leading national hospitality company in Nigeria that provides top-notch lifestyle and leisure experiences around the shorelines of the creeks and lagoons in Nigeria.
Before taking up these positions, he was Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Integrated Intelligent Imaging West Africa, an organization that provides diverse solutions in Aviation Security, Airspace Monitoring and Toll Management amongst others.
Gossy completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from the American University of Cyprus where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.
In recognition of his work in education and human capital, Gossy has received several honours. In June 2016, he was named among one of the 50 Global Makers and Shakers of Ed Tech. He also won the Accelerating Entrepreneurs category of the World Entrepreneur of the Year Award by the advisory firm Ernst and Young in June 2015.
