Solape Akinpelu is a business leader and gender-finance expert. She is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of HerVest, a fintech company that offers inclusive finance options to women in Africa.
The company offers convenient solutions for target savings, provides goal-oriented savings, impact investing, and credit options for women farmers and women-led SMEs in Nigeria.
With a membership of over 40,000, HerVest is committed to enhancing women’s lives by providing access to financial services and promoting financial inclusion. The goal is to create an inclusive platform that empowers women and enables them to achieve their financial aspirations with ease.

Solape completed a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from Onabisi Onabanjo University, and a master’s degree in Mass Communications/Media Studies from the University of Lagos. She is also a Certified Financial Education instructor and an active member of the Personal Finance Speakers Association (USA) as well as the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK).
In addition to her work with HerVest, Solape is the Global Co-Chair of Marketing for the Women in Tech Global Movement and Country Manager for Nigeria, an international organization with a double mission: to close the gender gap and to help women embrace technology.
Solape is also the Chairman of Technology at the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce, where she fosters technology trade and investment between Nigeria and Britain.
Through her efforts, Solape has contributed to the growth of the technology industry in Nigeria and helped strengthen the country’s economic ties with Britain.
Solape’s success as an entrepreneur has not gone unnoticed, and she has been recognized by several organizations for her contributions to the field. In 2020, she was named one of the Top 100 Women CEOs in Africa by Reset Global People, a leading African business publication.
Solape is a member of the Presidential High Level Advisory Committee to the President of Nigeria on Women and Girl’s Economic Empowerment. She also sits on the Gender Committee Desk at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Framework for Advancing Women’s Financial Inclusion.
Solape is a highly sought-after speaker who is often invited to lead conversations on gender finance, both online and offline. She has also been featured in various media outlets as an expert commentator on matters related to finance and gender.
Solape is also the author of the best-selling personal finance book – Stripped: An African Woman’s Guide to Building Generational Wealth.
