The 3rd Akada Children’s Book Festival is Here!

The annual Akada Children’s Book Festival is set for its 3rd edition scheduled to hold from the 1st – 3rd of July 2021 with registration commencing on the 27th of May 2021.

The Akada Children’s Book Festival (ACBF) is a fun event set aside to showcase children’s book written by talented African authors or books from around the world written for a diverse audience of children.

ACBF was created to encourage active reading, participation and literary bonding sessions between parents, teachers and children. The book festival is organized by Clever Clogs Books, a niche publishing house focused on the development of Nigerian-themed children’s picture book for early readers, with the vision to see Nigeria achieve a 100% literacy rate within their lifetime.

The ACBF shines as the first Nigerian book festival specifically for children. The first edition which held on the 27th of April 2019 at the British Council, Ikoyi Lagos attracted over 1400 attendees. The second edition – #Akada2020AtHome which held online over two days – 30th-31st of October 2020 featured professional workshops for children’s book writers, illustrators and publishers; author book readings; book chat; giggle box; happy tunes; story time; pop quizzes and prizes as well as fun workshops for children and insightful sessions for parents and teachers.

The 2021 Akada Children’s Book Festival will comprise of a 3-day programme of virtual activities featuring professional workshops for children’s book writers; illustrators; publishers; author book readings, book chats, fun mini-workshops for children, theater, music, dance, and insightful sessions for both parents and teachers.

With a lineup of the country’s finest and best-selling children’s authors and illustrators, the 3rd edition promises to be enlightening and entertaining. This edition is supported by British Council and Stanbic IBTC Bank.
