The 53rd NAACP Image Awards is back to celebrating excellence in entertainment. The awards spotlight the impressive performances and achievements of people of colour across different competitive categories including film, television, music, literature and more.
Awards nominees were announced in a virtual event on NAACP’s Instagram page hosted by actor/musician Kyla Pratt, “Black-ish” actor Marcus Scribner and singer-songwriter Tinashe. The winners will be announced during a two-hour live TV special, which will be hosted by seven-time NAACP Image Awards winner Anthony Anderson, and aired on 26th February 2022 at 8:00 PM ET/PT on BET.

Nigerian music stars Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Fireboy DML, and Omah Lay will compete in the “Outstanding International Song” category, while Tems received her first nomination for “Outstanding New Artist” for her album ”If Orange Was a Place”.
