Lafarge Africa, Africa’s most prominent building materials company, has announced the appointment of Viola Graham-Douglas as its new Communications, Public Affairs, and Sustainability Development Director. The appointment signals the company’s strategic focus on effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable practices in its operations.

The announcement was made via the company’s official social media channels, where Lafarge Africa expressed its enthusiasm in welcoming Viola to its leadership team. Viola brings with her a wealth of experience garnered over more than a decade in corporate communications, making her a valuable addition to the company.

Viola has been announced as the newest addition to Lafarge Africa. She comes from Guinness Nigeria Plc, where she held the Reserve & Modern Trade Director position for IPS (International Premium Spirits). Viola has had a diverse career, which includes serving in various roles within Lafarge. She has made significant contributions to Lafarge Africa’s operations and communication strategies. She served as Communications Director at Lafarge before moving to Guinness Nigeria Plc.

Viola was appointed at Lafarge Africa after serving as Director of IPS, Reserve and Modern Trade at Guinness Nigeria Plc. She significantly shaped the sales strategies for premium spirits and high-end products during her time there. Viola’s extensive experience in corporate communications and leadership makes her an invaluable asset to Lafarge Africa’s communication and sustainability initiatives.

Viola holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Obafemi Awolowo University, complemented by a Master of Business Administration from Sheffield Hallam University and a Master of Science in Investment Management from Cass Business School. Additionally, she is a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, underscoring her commitment to professional excellence and continuous learning.

In this new role, she will use her extensive expertise to develop effective communication strategies, improve stakeholder engagement, and advance the company’s sustainability agenda. This appointment highlights Lafarge Africa’s dedication to innovation, sustainability, and responsible corporate citizenship in the African building materials industry.
