Buju is Apple Music’s Latest “Africa Rising” Artist

Buju is the latest addition to Apple Music’s “Africa Rising” artist development program. The 24-year-old Afro-fusion singer and songwriter were recently announced by Apple Music as its latest ”Africa Rising Artist.
Apple Music’s “Africa Rising” is an exclusive artist development programme and companion playlist aimed at identifying, showcasing and elevating rising talent. It is also targeted at introducing the next generation of African superstars.
“I’m happy and proud to be the next Apple Music Africa Rising artist. I appreciate the genuine love and support my fans and the Apple Music team have shown me and I promise to never stop,” says Buju.

“Africa Rising” sees Apple Music select six artists every year who each receive a minimum of two months of editorial support across the Apple Music platform including a launch interview with Nadeska on Apple Music 1.
Buju, ” Daniel Benson” got his name from the initials of “Beauty Underneath Just Understood.” Buju became passionate about music while studying IT at the university. He soon released his first single “Catch A Vibe” in 2018.
The singer’s hit “Spiritual” featuring Zlatan (2019) brought him into the limelight. Since then, Buju has climbed charts, and bagged a nomination in the “Rookie of the Year” category at Nigeria’s HipTV Headies Awards in 2019. He also won the City People Music Awards for “Revelation of the Year” (2020).
More accolades were recorded in 2020 after he released a remix of his hit single “L’Enu” featuring Burna Boy.
Buju’s debut album “Sorry I’m Late“, available on Apple Music now, is a seven-track piece of modern Afrobeats hooks and traditional Afro-rooted melodies.
