Fifi Ejindu

Fifi Ejindu is a Nigerian architect, Businesswoman, and the first black African woman to graduate with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Pratt Institute of Architecture. She also holds a master’s degree in Urban Planning from the institution.

Fifi is the founder of Starcrest Group of Companies which includes Starcrest Investment Limited, Starcrest Associates, and Starcrest Industries focused on real estate, oil and gas, and building construction businesses respectively. Starcrest Investments has initiated investment forums in the U.A.E to attract foreign investors to Nigeria, the most significant saw Fifi invite the former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to lead a powerful Nigerian delegation to an investment forum with 50 of the most influential businessmen in the U.A.E. Some of these businessmen have invested in various sectors of the Nigerian economy in partnership with Starcrest Investments

Renowned for her passion and concern for the development of infrastructure in Nigeria, Fifi describes her style of architecture as Neo-traditional, which she defines as building new projects with new materials, but with traditional and old-style details. She also defines most of her projects, as bringing back the Renaissance period.

Fifi is also the founder of the African Arts and Fashion Initiative, launched in August 2013, at The Dorchester Hotel, London.  This initiative promotes Africa by showcasing its rich cultural heritage and talent globally, thereby creating opportunities to empower the youths on the continent. The emphasis is on driving an African Arts and Style Renaissance to mobilize, sensitize and most importantly, empower young, talented designers, and artists in Africa. 

Through living her dreams and creating impact, Fifi has received many recognitions. She was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the African Achievers Awards at the African Arts and Fashion Banquet which was held at The Dorchester on 4th August 2013. She is a proud winner of The Nigerian Golden Book Professional Icon Award, 2015, and was ranked as one of the female pioneers in the fields of Architecture and Business on CNN’s African Voices. Fifi is also recognized as an Honourary Patron Member of the Prestigious Icons Club of Dubai and a member of the Nigerian National Heritage Council.

Beyond work, Fifi is passionate about poverty eradication and bridging the gap for sustainable development and economic empowerment. As a strategist, she has been involved in several projects and social programs aimed at the transformation of corporate institutions and public sector growth. Fifi’s excellent management and interpersonal skills provide her with the ability to lead, build and inspire others.
