From the Ghetto to Netflix! Omo Ghetto: The Saga is Coming to Netflix Naija this September 

Omo Ghetto: The Saga, a 2020 Nigerian gangster comedy film is coming to Netflix Naija on the 10^th of September 2021.

The film was co-directed by award-winning actress Funke Akindele, also known as Jenifa, and JJC Skillz. The film stars Funke Akindele, Chioma Akpota, Nancy Isime, Eniola Badmus, Bimbo Thomas, Deyemi Okanlawon and Mercy Aigbe in the lead roles.

 Omo Ghetto: The Saga was the second film in the Omo Ghetto franchise and it was also the sequel to the 2010 trilogy film Omo Ghetto. 

The film had its theatrical release on the 25^th of December 2020 and became an internet sensation. The film became a box office success, surpassing Fate of Alakada as the highest grossing Nigerian film for the year 2020.

On the 26^th of January, 2022, the film grossed ₦468 million at the box office, breaking a four-year record formerly held by Kemi Adetiba’s 2016 comedy film “The Wedding Party,” to become the highest grossing Nollywood film ever.

Omo Ghetto:The Saga follows the life of Shalewa AKA Lefty (Funke Akindele). The comedy film features Funke Akindele in the dual role of Ayomide and Lefty.
