The Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo Telade IV has been honoured with the African Culture Award by the organizers of the 4th annual Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards (HAPAwards), together with Nigerian stars who were also recipients of other categories.

The virtual awards ceremony was held on the official website – hapawards.com with the theme, “I Am Because We Are One” recognizing renowned and talented African celebrities across the movie, music, comedy and arts industry.

This year’s edition was hosted by the duo of Michael Blackson and Zari Hassan and recognized celebrities like Richard Mofe-Damijo for Best Actor in a Film (Africa); Rita Dominic for Best International Female Actress in a Film (Universal); Desmond Elliot as Best Actor in an Independent Film (Africa), while Kate Henshaw also clinched the award for Best Actress in a Film (Africa) and Wema Sepetu, an award for Best Actress in a TV Series (Universal).

Other African winners included Bimbo Manuel who won Best Supporting Actor in a Film (Africa) from the movie ‘Fourth Republic’; Ramsey Iyoha, Best Digital Animation TV Series (Universal); Robert Peters for Best Director in a Film (Africa) and his movie, Voiceless which won Best Film (Africa). Also, popular internet influencer, Mufasa won the Social Media Influencer (Universal) award and Adonis Mavinga for Best Drama TV Mini-Series (African).

The producer and African representative of HAPAwards, Adeola Odunowo congratulated all winners of various award categories for their dynamism, adaptability and innovative spirits channelled towards producing quality movies even as the world is faced with different economic challenges.

Also, His Royal Majesty, Alara of Ilara Kingdom commended the organizers for a job well done, especially in showcasing the rich cultures and traditions Africa is blessed with. The Alara of Ilara Kingdom further seized the medium to appreciate Africans for having each other’s back and practising what they preach – love, harmony and prosperity.

Monica Omorodion Swaida, a Business Executive of HAPAwards and Host of HAPA International Business Roundtable (IBRT) celebrated the organizers of the awards for connecting Africans to new investment opportunities all over the world. During the awards event, Monica alongside Juliet Hagerman, an American entrepreneur with an interest in African growth and advancement facilitated the private investment session.

Since inception, HAPAwards has also honoured royalties like His Royal Majesty, the Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi; the King of Swaziland, His Majesty, Ngwenyama King Mswati III; former WBA Heavyweight Champion, Honorable Gerrie Coetzee; Reverend Mother Abimbola Ajayi and other prominent politicians, Hollywood and African A-List Actors, musicians, comedians and activists.
