Play Network Studios Acquires Rights to 1996 Nollywood Classic Diamond Ring

Play Network Studios, makers of  Nollywood classics like “Living In Bondage: Breaking Free,” “Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story“, “Nneka The Pretty Serpent,” the forthcoming “Glamour Girls“, and “Osuofia Goes To Miami,” has acquired the intellectual property rights to remake another Nollywood classic.

Charles Okpaleke, Play Network Africa’s  Chief Executive Officer disclosed via Instagram that unlike previous movies from the “Play Network Nostalgic collection,” Diamond Ring will be a remake and not a sequel. It may also be the last in the collection.

“We’ve just acquired the intellectual property rights to this Nollywood classic “Diamond Ring”. This would be a Remake and not a Sequel. This might probably be the last movie under the “Play Network Nostalgic collection”. Coming soon to your screens!! @playnetworkstudios”

Directed by Tade Ogidan, Diamond Ring stars Liz Benson, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Bimbo Akintola, Bukky Ajayi, Tunji Bamishigbin, Sola Sobowale, Teju Gbade-Oyelakin and others. 

The classic follows the story of a young child, Chidi, who is influenced into joining a notorious gang in the university.
