Nigerian singer, Ladipoe has earned himself a spot in the 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards nomination. The Mavin artist was nominated for Best International Flow with six other international artists including Nasty C(South Africa), Xam (Brazil), Laylow(France), Gazo (France), Little Simz (UK), and Dave (UK).

Dr Ifedayo Morayo Adetifa is the New NCDC Director-General

Dr Ifedayo Morayo Adetifa is now the Director-General of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). He is a member of the Kenyan National Immunisation Coordinating Committee and a member of the World Health Organisation, Africa Region’s (WHO-AFRO) Regional Immunisation Technical Advisory Group.

Wizkid’s Essence Goes Gold in the US!

With ”Essence”, Wizkid’s groundbreaking single Featuring Tems – off the Made in Lagos Album, both singers continue to make marks in the global music industry. “Essence” again received another recognition, this time firing up the music scene by being certified Gold in the United States. It went gold on the 2nd of September 2021 after selling an equivalent of 500,000 copies, including both streaming equivalent and physical sales.

Tobi Amusan is the First Nigerian to Win Diamond League

Tobi Amusan made history on Thursday, 9th of September 2021 when she won the 100m women’s hurdles at the ongoing Women Diamond League in Zurich, setting a new African Record and Personal Best of 12.42 seconds, and breaking Glory Alozie’s 23-year African record. The track and field athlete is the first Nigerian to win a Diamond League trophy.
