Slum2School Africa Is Raising Funds to Enroll 5,000 Children Living in Underserved Communities in Nigeria
Slum2School Africa has launched its 2021 annual fundraising campaign tagged #IAmMore. The campaign was officially announced on Saturday, 13th September 2021 to raise funds to enrol 5,000 children living in underserved communities across Nigeria into school for the 2021/2022 academic session.
Slum2School is a volunteer-driven development organization transforming society by empowering underserved children in slums and remote communities with quality education, entrepreneurial skills, and psychosocial support to enable them to realize their full potential and become social reformers.
Founded in 2012 by Otto Orondaam, the organization recognizes that there are severe shortcomings in the educational sector in Africa and in this area, it is committed to transforming the lives of Africa’s most precious resource – her children.
Slum2School provides educational scholarships, creates safe learning spaces, uses 21st-century pedagogy and technology to improve learning outcomes and provides several other health and psychosocial supports for underserved children in slums and hard to reach communities. This is achieved by collaborating with the government, private sector, individuals, civil society organizations and other developmental agencies towards building a resourceful and sustainable network. Most importantly building a network of a socially responsible community of volunteers committed to social reformation.

Slum2School envisions a world where every child has access to quality education, good health, and a happy family.
Over the past nine years, the organisation has led several fundraising campaigns including #AThousandDreams, and #3000Voices to support out-of-school children across slums and under-developed communities. It has provided scholarships to over 3, 250 children and supported over 108, 500 children, all coordinated through the provision of school supplies, medical supplies, instructional materials, teacher support, health, psycho-social and community support.
The Slum2School #IAmMore campaign hopes to see the public key into the vision of enrolling more children in school.
