Khadijah Okunnu-Lamidi, a 38-year-old media personality and founder of Slice Media Solutions recently declared her interest to contest for the presidential office in the 2023 General Elections in Nigeria.

According to Khadijah Okunnu-Lamidi at a media conference held in Lagos State, her interest was fueled by the desire to rekindle hope and make Nigeria a thriving place for all Nigerians. She is confident in her ability to rewrite the Nigerian history and narrative on politics and good governance as well as restore hope for all citizens of the country.

“I believe in the possibilities Nigeria holds; that is why I have taken this first step, not because there are no fears, but the will to bring about the Nigeria we all wish, hope and believe we can make a reality together.

“I seek to change the direction of our country because time and chance will happen to all of us and the time for action is today.

“We need a better class and a better crop of leaders that are selfless, disciplined, and bound with integrity, and above all, who love the country and are invested in her future.

“I am here to activate all people, the old, the poor, the rich; to unite around a common ideal based on a consensus about a superior national development agenda.”

Although her intention to contest for the presidential seat has been clearly stated, she is yet to inform on which party she belongs to.

Background 

Khadijah Okunnu-Lamidi was born in Lagos State. She is the daughter of Sir Lateef Olufemi Okunnu, a former Federal Commissioner of Works and Housing, (1967-1974) and Madam Arinola Omololu, a businesswoman. 

Khadijah Okunnu-Lamidi completed her Secondary Education at Atlantic Hall School, Maryland (1994-2000). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management (Hons) from the University of Bolton RAK Campus in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and a master’s degree in Strategic Project Management (SPM) from Heriot-Watt University, Dubai.

Khadijah’s experience includes working at the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) for four years before going into entrepreneurship. She currently doubles as Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Slice Media Solutions, a brand consultancy firm in Victoria Island, Lagos State.

Known for gender and youth development advocacy, Khadijah has facilitated some social impact initiatives such as Water Relief Nigeria, Help Our Youth (HOY), To Better Nigeria, and Project: Bridge the Gap.

A businessman, she has been featured as one of the Top 50 Women in Marketing & Communication in Nigeria. She is a member of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON).

The media entrepreneur is married to Adeshola Lamidi, a Financial Analyst and Risk Management professional.
