Tope Omotolani, the New CEO of Crowdyvest

Crowdyvest, the investment arm of Farmcrowdy Group launched in 2019 recently announced its transition from its crowdfunding model to a go-to digital wealth management and savings platform. The announcement followed an additional investment and a change in leadership. Crowdyvest was created to provide all-in-one financial solutions for individuals and businesses to achieve short or long-term goals while leading impactful growth in line with the United Nations 17 sustainable Development Goals.

As Onyeka Akumah, steps down as Chief Executive Officer, Tope Omotolani, who was Managing Director and co-founder takes on a new leadership position as the Chief Executive Officer of the startup. As the new CEO, Tope Omotolani is charged with fully transitioning the platform from its previous crowdfunding model into a fintech company that will contribute to the growth of a rising industry.

Prior to being CEO and co-founder of Crowdyvest, Tope has founded and co-founded several startups including Farmcrowdy Limited.

Tope completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Lagos and a certificate in Agricultural Business and Management from the Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University.

In 2016, Tope took a huge step in her career, co-founding Farmcrowdy with Onyeka Akumah and four other co-founders, and taking up the position of VP, Operations from September 2016 to June 2018. As co-founder and VP of Operations, Tope saw the creation and optimization of Farmcrowdy’s services at every point of the value-chain for commercial purpose. She also built a marketing network and process alongside the Chief Operating Officer for the purpose of effectively selling all produce from Farmcrowdy at the highest standards profitably. 

In June 2018, she became the Chief Operations Officer, handling Farmcrowdy’s operational policies, objectives and initiatives. Asides from planning and directing all aspects of Farmcrowdy’s operational policies, Tope was responsible for the attainment of short and long-term financial and operational goals.

Also, in August 2019, Tope co-founded Emfato Holdings, a company enabling collaborative development in Africa with the use of innovative technology. She later co-founded Crowdyvest as a portfolio company under Emfato Holdings. Until her appointment as CEO of Crowdyvest, Tope was Managing Director of the company from December 2019 to March 2021.

In addition to her career as co-founder and CEO, Tope volunteers for various organizations including Beyond the Classroom Foundation, where she serves as Project Director, and The Irede Foundation.

Tope joins the wave of female co-founders and CEOs influencing the fintech industry. In her new leadership position, she will lead Crowdyvest into becoming one of the leading wealth management companies in Nigeria.
