
Nigeria’s Godwin Tom to supervise Sony Music Publishing’s expansion into Africa as Managing Director of the new office in Lagos
Godwin Tom has been appointed Managing Director of Sony Music Publishing’s – SMP new office in Lagos State, Nigeria. This is following SMP’s recent announcement to expand operations across Africa with the opening of a new office in Lagos State.
Godwin Tom, in his new role as Managing Director, will supervise the company’s expansion into Africa and manage its growing list of songwriters and composers.

With over 20 years of experience, Godwin boasts solid knowledge of the African music industry. He has built strong relationships with top stakeholders in Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. Godwin has also supported the development of future industry leaders through the Music Business Academy for Africa, an e-learning platform dedicated to training the next generation of music and entertainment professionals.
