Awoniyi’s postgraduate qualification focuses on Global Football Sport Directorship, a field covering areas of football leadership, management and sporting operations.
The programme is offered by the FA Business School, an educational initiative of the Professional Footballers’ Association designed to help current and former players develop skills for careers beyond playing.
Delivered part-time over two academic years, the programme provides training around football operations, sporting strategy, management and the responsibilities associated with the modern sporting director. The qualification is awarded by the University of Portsmouth in collaboration with the PFA Business School.
Completing the programme with Merit represents a significant academic achievement for Awoniyi, particularly as he has combined his studies with the demands of professional football.
The striker thanked the business school, lecturers, colleagues, family and friends for their support throughout the programme.
