Tiwa Savage Makes First On-Screen Debut With Water and Garri Film
Tiwa Savage, Nigeria’s female Afrobeats sensation has announced that her feature film, “Water and Garri” will premiere on Prime Video across over 240 countries worldwide this year.
Tiwa Savage, known for her exploits in the music industry, takes the lead in this captivating film that sheds light on African narratives.

Directed by Meji Alabi and filmed in Cape Coast, Ghana, the movie features Mike Afolarin (Far From Home) and Jemima Osunde (New Money). It narrates the tale of Aisha (Tiwa Savage), an ambitious fashion designer returning home after a decade in the United States, who must deal with the scars and confront the guilt she left behind.
Water and Garri took more than two years to produce according to Tiwa. She described it as the most adventurous and fulfilling project she has ever done.
