Total Nigeria Appoints Victor Bandele as Deputy Managing Director

The Board of Total Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited (Total E&P) has disclosed the appointment of Victor Bandele as Deputy Managing Director to oversee the Deepwater District of the company. He succeeds Mr Ahmadu-Kida Musa, who recently retired from the company after 35 years of service.

Victor’s educational background includes a bachelor and master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ilorin. He is an alumnus of the IFP School, France where he completed his training in Reservoir Engineering.

Victor Bandele’s experience spans more than 25 years in Total E&P, with a proven record marking significant contributions, especially in the Deepwater district. He has worked in various sections of the company, holding important positions in Operations and Management within and out of Nigeria.

Total Nigeria Appoints Victor Bandele as Deputy Managing Director

Victor Bandele started his career with Total E&P as a Trainee Reservoir Engineer in 1993 and was involved in many subsurface field management and development activities onshore and offshore as well some non-operated assets of the company. In 2004, he was appointed leader of the Geoscience and Reservoir engineering team for the Offshore OML 99/Assets.

Until his appointment, Victor served as the Executive Director overseeing activities of three main technical divisions and two support entities at the company’s Port Harcourt/JV district. He has made many contributions that necessitated his frequent promotions at the company, including managing Akpo Field, which was the Total’s foremost Deepwater development project.

Additionally, at Total’s headquarters in Paris, Victor was the Executive General Manager of GSR & Assets Management within the JV District and functioned as the Petroleum Architect in the Development Studies entity.

Victor’s return to the Nigerian subsidiary in 2015 marked his promotion as Executive General Manager, Special Duties for JV District, after which he was appointed to the Board of Total E&P as an Executive Director. As Executive Director, Victor saw to the completion of the OFON Phase 2 development, the start of domestic gas supply through Obite, Ubeta, Rumuji/Northern Option Pipeline (OUR/NOPL) infrastructure and the launch of the Ikike field development project.

Victor is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.

Total E&P Nigeria Limited is an affiliate of Total S.A and has operated in the upstream sector of the Nigerian hydrocarbon industry for more than 50 years. The company has partnered severally with the Nigerian Government, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and other indigenous companies to develop the country’s hydrocarbon industry.
