Ifeanyi Orajaka
Ifeanyi Orajaka is an engineer, entrepreneur and a top player in the Distributed Renewable Energy sector of Sub-Saharan Africa. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Green Village Electricity (GVE) Projects Limited, the leading and most innovative indigenous renewable energy solutions provider in Sub-Saharan Africa. GVE’s business operations include the sale, design, integration and maintenance of renewable energy systems for residential, commercial and rural off-grid (mini-grid) communities.
As CEO, GVE Projects Limited, Ifeanyi is directly involved in the development and implementation of strategies to position the company as a leader in the African renewable energy industry. With over 10 years of experience in renewable energy systems design, business development and strategy formulation, Ifeanyi has successfully led the company from being an undergraduate student project concept to become a global brand, a leading renewable energy company in Sub-Saharan Africa and one of the fastest-growing private companies on the continent as recognized by the London Stock Exchange.
Engineer Ifeanyi completed a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Electronics Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), a Master of Engineering degree in Power Systems Engineering from the University of Port-Harcourt, Nigeria and is currently undergoing a Senior Executive Program in Business Administration and Management, General at the Harvard Business School Executive Education.
Additionally, Ifeanyi has trained on courses relating to Corporate Finance, New Venture Finance, Public-Private Partnerships, Operations Management, and Marketing. He is a certified project manager and holds professional internship experiences in leading multinationals such as Royal Dutch Shell, ExxonMobil and NIIT.
Prior to founding GVE Projects in 2010, Ifeanyi worked first as an Intern in ExxonMobil, one of Nigeria’s leading Oil and Gas companies from 2009-2010, and later as Trainee IT Infrastructure Analyst as a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member at ExxonMobil from 2011-2012.

Driven by social and community development, Ifeanyi volunteers in top global organizations such as the Obama Foundation, Global Shapers Community, European Commission and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, IEEE.
Through GVE Projects Limited, Ifeanyi has collaborated with recognized organizations such as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), United States Africa Development Foundation (USADF), US Power Africa Initiative Deloitte, and Department for International Development (DFID).
By executing his mission to end extreme energy poverty in Africa, Ifeanyi has attracted several international recognitions such as the 2016 Future Africa Award in Business, 2016 Africa Energy Leader of the Year award, 2018 participant of the Dutch Visitor Program, and was named among Nigeria’s Most Innovative CEOs in 2019.
Ifeanyi is a member of the Finance Working Group of the Africa Mini-Grid Developers Association, an advisory board member of the Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria, and a member of the Africa-Europe High-Level Platform for Sustainable Energy Investments in Africa; an Africa Union and European Commission initiative. He is equally an Obama Foundation Fellow, World Economic Forum’s Global Shaper, and a Green Ambassador.
