Olugbenga Owoye of Ajobank.ng has been named winner of Donors for Africa’s African Social Innovators Boot Camp (ASIBC) which held recently. The second cohort of the ASIBC received 187 applications from social leaders across 23 African countries and 45 innovators were later selected to receive intensive training from leading professionals from Africa on how they can continue to address the Sustainable Development Goals and tackle issues bothering around poverty on the continent.

Following the pitch competition held amongst shortlisted innovators, Olugbenga Owoye, who is enabling financial inclusion through leveraging innovative technology, emerged as the winner of the competition. Through Ajobank, a digital platform providing access to reliable financial solutions, Olugbenga Owoye is creating financial inclusion for the underserved communities in Africa. Ajobank provides access to a loan at a zero interest rate and enables holders to have a seamless savings experience.

Although he started Ajobank as a side project created to solve financial problems for a group of friends and family, the fintech startup was recognized in December 2019 by Daikin-Samurai Incubate from Japan as the top 9 brilliant startups from Africa to pitch at the finals in Kenya. In 2020, the startup was also selected by Earthtech Venture (Together in Action) from Australia as the top 2% global venture; thus attracting the interest of investors and potential partners from Africa and beyond.
