Olympics: Enoch Adegoke Attains Record-Breaking Feat
Olympic first-timer Enoch Olaoluwa Adegoke put up an impressive performance to attain a record-breaking feat on the 1st of August during the Tokyo Olympics. He has now qualified for the finals of the men’s 100m hurdle event at the ongoing tournament.
In the highly competitive men 100m semifinal race, Enoch ended in second place in 10. Seconds alongside American T. Brummell, with Great Britain’s Zharnel Huges, who clocked 9.98 seconds, in the first place.

The sprinter previously won his Heat with a new Personal Best Time of 9.98 seconds.
The 21-year-old is now the first Nigerian since Davidson Ezinwa in 1996 to qualify for the men’s 100m finals at the event. He is on record as the 11th Nigerian in history to go under the 10 seconds mark in the event. With that, Nigeria now ties with the UK in the third spot amongst the list of countries who have produced sub 10 seconds runners. The first is the USA (62) and the second, Jamaica (20).
Enoch will compete with reigning African record holder, Akani Simbine of South Africa in the final.
