Nigeria has produced another remarkable collection of Guinness World Records achievements in 2026, with Nigerians making history across entertainment, skilled trades, communication, culture, advocacy and endurance.
From a barber who spent 72 hours working continuously to a teenager who cycled 100 miles to raise awareness for autism, this year’s records show how varied record-breaking can be. Some achievements have come from individuals, while others have involved teams and organisations bringing large groups of people together.
Here are some of the Nigerians and Nigerian-led efforts that have entered the Guinness World Records books in 2026.
Joshua Babatunde Aiyenuro: 72 Hours of Professional Hairdressing

Joshua Babatunde Aiyenuro, popularly known as T-Jos Signature, started the year with an impressive achievement in the grooming industry.
On 29 January 2026, he completed a 72-hour professional hairdressing marathon in Nasarawa State, earning the Guinness World Records title for the longest professional hairdressing marathon.
The achievement came after an earlier attempt that did not receive recognition because of technical issues. Aiyenuro returned to the challenge with a renewed approach and turned the record into a platform for his wider ambition of creating vocational opportunities for young people through barbing and entrepreneurship.
