Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu is a successful Business and Media Strategist with a proven ability to lead successful teams, grow revenue and gain market share for global brands. A Senior Executive with over 15 years of experience in world-class Fast Moving Consumer Goods, (FMGC) Telecommunications and Media organizations, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu is known for her role in positioning people, products and organizations for growth.
Wangi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and obtained other certifications over the years in her career.
A charismatic leader with the innate ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships, Wangi was recently appointed Principal Head of Content Acquisition for Amazon Prime in Africa. Wangi’s Head of Content Acquisition position for Amazon Prime comes only a few months after enabling cinemas in Nigeria to be among the few to screen its “Coming to America.” Hollywood classic.
In her current role, she defines and executes the content strategy for Prime Video in Sub-Saharan Africa, oversees content licensing/ commissioning, selection for US and local film and television as well as builds the content acquisition pipeline for local and US/Hollywood content across languages.
Before Amazon Prime, she was Regional Director of M-Net West Africa having joined the company as its West African Regional Manager in 2012. At M-Net Africa, she grew and transformed the media landscape in Africa by demonstrating thought leadership and driving the agenda for the creation of compelling global and indigenous content that resonates with Africa.

Before joining M-Net, she held managerial positions in various multinational companies including British American Tobacco, The Coca-Cola Company and Airtel. She manages the Africa Magic Showcase, Africa Magic Family, Africa Magic Epic, Africa Magic Urban and Africa Magic World channels. She also manages the local language channels – Africa Magic Hausa, Africa Magic Yoruba and Africa Magic Igbo.
Wangi is passionate about the Television, Film and Entertainment industry, and has demonstrated her interest through leading multiple growths in organizations. She is an innovative and dependable change agent with an interesting portfolio in strategic positioning, brand building, content creation and inspirational leadership.
