Gold Statue (June 1)

Now streaming on Netflix, Gold Statue follows the characters of Gabriel Afolayan and Kunle Remi in search of the titular statue, which is believed to have been a deity inherited by their generation. Through a friend played by Kalu Ikeagwu, both found out that the statue is buried underneath a prison. To have access to the statue, Gabriel must find his way to the penitentiary. Produced and directed by Tade Ogidan in 2019, Gold Statue features the likes of Nobert Young, Tina Mba, Bisola Aiyeola, Woli Arole, Etinosa Idemudia, Kelvin Ikeduba, Rycardo Agbor, Judith Audu and Greg Ojefua.

Small Chops (June 5)

Five Interesting Nollywood Titles Coming to Netflix this June

Small Chops follows the story of dancer Nikita (Chika Ike) at a bar who catches the attention of Casper (Max Cavenham), an uptight businessman. After paying for a weekend entertainment, events didn’t go as planned between Nikita and Casper following their self-esteem and totalitarian attitudes respectively. Small Chops is produced by Chika Ike and directed by Robert Peters.

Tango with Me (June 12)

Initially released in May 2010 and directed by Mahmood Ali-Balogun, Tango with Me follows the characters of Genevieve Nnaji (Lola) and Joseph Benjamine (Uzo); a newly married couple who journey through self-discovery and healing while dealing with the realities of their marriage.

Kambili: The Whole 30 Yards (June 18)

Released in 2020, the movie follows the character of Nancy Isime (Kambili Maduka), a 28-year old woman who intends to get married before she turns 30. Kambili’s hope was however dashed after her boyfriend (Mawuli Gavor) broke up with her shortly after a date. Determined to prove that she can be responsible, driven, focused and of course a wife material, she seeks assistance from her friends. The movie stars Toyin Abraham, Sharon Ooja, Swanky JKA, Elvina Ibru and others. The movie is directed by Kayode Kasum.

Voiceless (June 25)

Inspired by real-life events, Voiceless follows the story of Salma and Goni, two victims faced with an uninteresting encounter. Amid betrayals and suspicions, they find love, strength and the will to survive. Directed by Robert Peters and produced by Rogers Ofime, Voiceless features Esther Asabe Phillips, Adam Garba, Rekiya Attah, Yakubu Mohammed, Uzee Usman and Sani Muazu.
