Gulder Ultimate Search is Coming Back to Our Screen! Here’s How You Can Audition

Nigerian Breweries (NB) Plc has officially announced the comeback of Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS), a survival reality TV show that dominated the Nigerian airwaves in the early 2000s. The show is making its comeback with “The Age of Craftsmanship” as the theme for the 2021 edition.
Launched in 2004, GUS received huge accolades from fans and went on to become the most-watched reality TV series in Nigeria. The show recorded massive success before its pause in 2014.
GUS is created and sponsored by Nigerian Breweries Plc to promote the Gulder Lager Beer and to showcase the resilience and will of Nigerian youths to succeed. The GUS series is the first 100% local content reality TV programme in Nigeria that highlights the struggles and determination of contestants between 10 to 30 persons. The show explores nature, the quest to survive, and the search for a hidden treasure which eventually leads to the winner of the show.
The reality series has been produced by Olakunle Oyeneye and Executive produced by Oluseyi Siwoku. The show has also been anchored by popular Nigerian actors Chidi Mokeme and Bob-Manuel Udokwu in different seasons.
Previous winners of the survival show included Ezeugo Egwuagwu (GUS 1), Lucan Chambliss (GUS 2), Hector Joberteh (GUS 3), Dominic Mudabai (GUS 4), Michael Nwachukwu (GUS 5), Uche Nwaezeapu (GUS 6), Oyekunle Oluwaremi(GUS 7), Chris Okagbue (GUS 8), Paschal Eronmose Ojezele (GUS 9), Dennis Okike (GUS 10), and Chinedu Ubachukwu (GUS 11).

In 2010, GUS launched a celebrity edition which took place in La Campaigne Tropicana, Epe, Lagos. The show saw actor Emeka Ike win the sum of ₦7 million after locating the “Golden Goblet”. The last season which aired in 2014 saw the winner take home a whopping ₦10 million prize and an SUV.
Registration for the 2021 edition of the show started on September 1 and is slated to end on September 8, 2021.
Who can Apply?
Organizers of the survival reality series informed that the new season of GUS is open to receiving applications from Nigerians between the ages of 21 and 35 years.
To apply, visit www.gulderultimatesearch.ng. Applicants are expected to enter their personal details, upload a photograph and answer a few questions.
Screening
The first screening session will begin on September 13 and shortlisted applicants will undergo a regional selection process in Abuja and Enugu on September 13 and 14 while the selection (second screening) will take place in Lagos on September 16 and 17 2021.
The GUS – Age of Craftsmanship edition will premiere on October 16 2021 and will run till December 19, when the grand finale holds. The show will air on DSTV and other local stations across Nigeria.
The host of the GUS 2021 edition is yet to be announced.
