Nigerian footballers delivered standout performances across Europe over the weekend, with several Super Eagles players making decisive contributions for their clubs in England and Turkey.
From crucial goals to key assists, the weekend showcased the growing influence of Nigerian talent in top European leagues, with Victor Osimhen, Paul Onuachu, and Ryan Alebiosu all playing pivotal roles for their respective teams.
Osimhen Leads Galatasaray Charge
Victor Osimhen once again underlined his importance to Galatasaray with a goal in their comfortable 3–0 victory over İstanbul Başakşehir in the Turkish Süper Lig.
The Nigerian striker struck in the 66th minute to double his side’s advantage after Wilfried Singo had opened the scoring earlier in the second half. Osimhen’s goal effectively sealed the match and reinforced Galatasaray’s dominance on the day.

Onuachu Maintains Scoring Streak
Paul Onuachu continued his exceptional scoring form for Trabzonspor, netting the decisive goal in their narrow 1–0 victory over Rizespor. The towering Nigerian striker struck early in the match, finding the net in the fifth minute to give his side an advantage they would maintain until the final whistle.
The goal took Onuachu’s tally to 21 league goals this season, strengthening his position at the top of the Süper Lig scoring chart with a comfortable lead over his closest challengers.

The right-back registered his third assist of the season, setting up Mathias Jørgensen’s equalising goal late in the match as Blackburn mounted a comeback to claim all three points.
