Burna Boy’s Mum, Bose Ogulu is on Billboard’s 2021 “International Power Players” List

Bose Ogulu, popular talent manager and co-founder, Spaceship Collective has been named on Billboard’s 2021 International Power Players list. Bose Ogulu’s Spaceship Collective is the music label for Afrobeats superstar and Grammy awards winner Burna Boy as well as Nissi Ogulu and Buju. 

Also included on Billboard’s list is Obi Asika, founding partner of Dragon Africa; a strategic communications firm based in London, Lagos and Accra.

Billboard’s International Power Players list aims to recognize industry leaders – nominated by their companies and peers and selected by the Billboard’s editors – with primary responsibilities outside the United States.

Honorees include label executives, music publishers, artist managers, concert promoters and independent entrepreneurs.

Popular as Mama Burna, Bose Ogulu has gained wide recognition within and out of Nigeria, as the manager of Nigeria’s breakout global star Burna Boy. She is the daughter of Benson Idonije, a music critic and manager of Fela Kuti, Afrobeats pioneer and legend.

With a bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages and a master’s in Translation from the University of Port Harcourt, Bose Ogulu has had quite an impressive career as a translator for the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce. She speaks English, French, German, Italian, and Yoruba.

Bose Ogulu’s Spaceship Collective is the holding company to Spaceship Records and Spaceship Publishing. As well as being a talent manager and co-founder, she is also the Executive Director, and Burna Boy; the largest shareholder, with his imprint Spaceship Entertainment.
